This book offers a comprehensive overview on implantation technique and complications of total hip prostheses. Planning of the operation is explained in a detailed manner. In the second part of the book all typical local complications such as hematoma, infections, luxations, fractures, neurologic complications and pain are defined and analysed with reference to the authors’ own experience and the relevant literature. The book ends with chapters on the overall survival of various types of prostheses and on informed consent.
