I am very impressed with Hansberry's work. I disagree with the negative review form the high school student who "had" to read the book. I too am in high school and not only read the book, but elected to use it for my research paper. Since starting the paper, I have truly enjoyed Hansberry's work and would reccomend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about this unique, dedicated individual who has touched so many people including me.
hi my name is alicia i am a high school senior and had to read this book i had to tell a summary and i could not how could i tell a summary of letters plays and her thoughts i needed help and if there is anyone out there reading it for school i would not recommend you read it at all its good but not that good to get a F for
The only negative comment I could make about this book is that a few of the passages included from Hansberry's plays were not as powerful as the rest. It is tragic that the world lost a truly gifted and spirited writer at such a young age. If you enjoyed A Raisin in the Sun, you'll also find this a rewarding read.
I saw the "Young" part. I even saw the "Black" part. But "Gifted"? My God! This was such a waste of time in my busy life. I can't believe I was subjected to read such boring nonsense. If you're thinking of reading this book, DO NOT. You would have more fun being dead.
