1.0 von 5 Sternen Couldn't Get Through It 3. Mai 2012
Von K. Spencer - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I got about a quarter into this book, and although the characters were interesting and the story itself was good, I couldn't get past the languages (lots of d-words, and bleeped out f-bombs that had the first and last letters, so despite the fact they were partially censored, my mind kept filling in the blanks, which is natural for most readers)... and at some point there is mention of physical compromise between the main character and her boyfriend as a type of reward for his kindness. That's where I stopped reading. It just didn't make sense to me because the main character is supposed to be a strong Christian and it just seems like these things all conflict with each other. Also as a parent I would never let my mother or father use serious language around my elementary school aged child. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to like this book.

1.0 von 5 Sternen Not a Christian Book. 14. Januar 2013
Von J. A. Webb - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I wanted to get this book for one of my children and it was free for download too. I looked through the free preview and I can tell you that this in NOT a Christian book. The language is offensive and actions portrayed as Christian are not things a true follower would do. My fear is that this book will lead others astray. It seems that the book was written by someone with a very shallow idea of what Christianity is. This book had the potential to be a truly uplifting story but it clearly is a disappointment. Please if you want to see what true Christianity is don't look at this book. Find a church or talk to a real pastors or strong Christian youth. This book is misleading.

2.0 von 5 Sternen Good Premise, Falls Short 28. März 2013
Von jazzylady 2288 - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Taschenbuch|Verifizierter Kauf
I bought this book when it was free for the Kindle. I thought it would be a good Christian novel that I could enjoy. The main characters are indeed Christian, but some of the characters are not - and the language shows this. The book needs a good edit, and the characters need to be fleshed out more. I did appreciate that prayer was mentioned throughout the book , but the frequent curse words negate this. Overall , I would not recommend this book.

1.0 von 5 Sternen There's a difference in humility and pride in actions. 18. Januar 2013
Von Jan Morrison - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
This is the worse written book I can remember ever starting to read. I skipped to the end just to see if the plot was for the main character to become humble before God. She didn't. She agreed to participate in a contest, then refused to abide by the rules. She used her physical strength to intimidate others. I felt like the author didn't understand the difference in standing firm with humility and pride in living a particular lifestyle.

2.0 von 5 Sternen I tried... 28. November 2012
Von 4 - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I am on pg. 3 and I have seen enough parentheses to last me a lifetime. I tried to ignore that but it's hard to ignore it every five sentences.
If you are going to describe someone, do not use parentheses. Just describe them. It is okay to do that!
Do not put relations in quotes. Say, if you want someone to know who is who, tell us. Do not tell me that so-and-so is her grandmother in paretheses. I can get it by seeing that her name is Grandma or such.
Show me what they are doing. Don't tell me. Picture the entire book as a movie.
I generally like football tales but I am stressed out with this head-hopping or whatever you want to call it. I never know who's head I am in.
