In contrast to Chaosmosis, which is a bit difused with the different forms by which subjectivity is produced, as much as not as clear about an "aesthetic of life" as Foucault was in his scriptures on Sexuality and Truth, this is a very compact work.
Firstly, it does not go into the "aesthetics of life" and has a clear distinction of three ecologies- it is a sad thing, that this book, not concerning its Appenidix, Foreword etc. is actually just an article by Guattari, but it is brilliant. You of course can see, that it was written during the Cold War, but the outcome of it is, just as much as it is simple, also simply brilliant.
You can consider this work as a ground for ananlysis in sociology, psychology, ecology and politics. In the whole, if you looking for a text, with an analysis you can put to use by your own means: this is it.
It doesn't tell you how to use its ideas, but it gives you an idea of how much the "idea" of "ecology" actually means, even in city-spaces. But only if you look at is as a text, that you yourself have to think on for yourself- free thinkers, here you find your bread.
