I find this book to be very disturbing, for two primary reasons.
First, this book is proof that Republicans are lying when they say that they want smaller government. The Republicans spent millions of tax dollars to investigate a sexual act that took place between consenting adults. Did you hear me? I said that they were consenting adults. So why should the government get involved?
Secondly, Bill Clinton has signed a number of internet censorship bills. How ironic, then, that he has been largely responsibile for this kind of sleaze appearing on the internet. Apparently, Bill Clinton thinks that reading about sex is somehow more significant than engaging in it. Talk about hypocrisy.
So how do I feel about all of this? Well, I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican. I am a Libertarian. My position is that the government should not prosecute adults who engage in consentual sexual activity, and that the government should not censor the internet. However, since Bill Clinton has spent his entire presidency trying to expand the powers of government into just about every area of peoples' lives (internet censorship, know your customer law, the war on drugs, his health care plan, etc.), I see a certain sente of justice when that very same big government that he supports decides to stick its nose into his life. Bill Clinton asked for big government, and he got it. He got exactly what he asked for. So I don't think he should be complaining.
