5.0 von 5 Sternen Breaking News! 17. Mai 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Several sub-plots run concurrently in this newest novel by James Anderson. Although we meet the same characters as in Deadline, and there are references to the stories from the first book, this is a standalone book. We again follow the reporter Trevor as he meets a new girlfriend (who literally stumbles into his life), and who is not quite what she seems; Editor Braden and his girlfriend, who are dealing with a diagnosis of cancer along with the usual headaches of managing a newspaper; and publisher Andrew and his bride-to-be Katie, who are frantically preparing for their upcoming wedding. In addition, events unfolding include a murder trial and a child's fight for life. Add to the mix a terrorist intent on bringing Canada and the US to its knees, and you have an amazing thrill ride as they all come together in Toronto.

Once again, Mr. Anderson's personal knowledge of the newspaper publishing industry shines thru as you watch the juggling act performed at the break-neck speed required to put a paper to press. He has skillfully depicted the characters and events, and managed to weave them into a page-turning read. Bravo!!

5.0 von 5 Sternen Close Call or Calamity 3. Mai 2012
Von Arthur J. Levine - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
James Anderson skillfully weaves a number of sub plots and characters together to make his new novel Scorpion a fitting companion to Deadline. A newspaper reporter and an intelligence officer form a liaison that unwittingly may undermine a sinister plot by the Scorpion and his terrorist buddies to kill millions of people in Canada and the US. I'm not going to tell you what happens, but it's a real cliff hanger with a background setting of murder and mayhem and one of the most elite weddings of the year in a sky high tower that just itches to be blown up.

James brings to this spell binding novel the pinpoint accuracy of a died in the wool newspaperman with great attention to detail and character development. The Scorpion is the type of Character you will love to hate. This well written book is pure entertainment and a great read. Easily deserves five stars. James A. Anderson has done it again.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Fabulous Sequel to DEADLINE! 4. Juni 2012
Von Peter M. Leschner - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Von Amazon bestätigter Kauf
Mr. Anderson pulls off a very difficult feat with THE SCORPION, which is to have written a sequel every bit as good and in some ways even better than DEADLINE, the excellent first book in this series. Interesting life stories and current events ranging from love to confronting life threatening illness and terrorism are capably woven together united by their fight to end up on the front page of the Daily Express, a Toronto newspaper. Threads of relationships, characters and stories from DEADLINE are skillfully pulled into THE SCORPION adding continuity and interest without repetition. As with DEADLINE, I found myself racing through pages to find out how the various stories would be resolved. This an expertly written, well thought out thriller filled with unforeseen twists and turns, which grabs and holds your attention from the first page. I would highly recommend this book (and DEADLINE) to anyone seeking a fabulous, fast paced thriller. Congratulations again to James A. Anderson on a fantastic job!

4.0 von 5 Sternen Can you beat the sting of the Scorpion? 8. April 2013
Von Beary - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Von Amazon bestätigter Kauf
I read The Scorpionafter reading DEADLINE. I enjoyed this book as well as the first. This story allowed us to see what happened next with the Daily Express and build on some of the familiar characters. The book has enough information and details to make it interesting, suspenseful, and plausible without slowing it down with too much data. As with any good story it left room for further adventures.
