Andrew Staniforth is an experienced counter-terrorism police practitioner and former Special Branch detective. A professionally qualified teacher and an Honorary Visiting Fellow at City University London, Andrew has developed national counter-terrorism exercise programmes and delivers counter-terrorism training to senior police commanders as part of the International Commanders Programme at the National Police College, Bramshill. He is the author of the Blackstone's Counter Terrorism Handbook (Oxford University Press 2009, 2010 & 2012), the Blackstone's Handbook of Ports and Borders Security (Oxford University Press 2012), and 'Counter-Terrorism & Violent Extremism', Blackstone's Handbook of Police Procedure (Oxford University Press, 2009).
