Danger: It'll cause you to take action. 5. März 2013
Von Marc Allred - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Gebundene Ausgabe
Be careful when reading this book because, if you're like me, you'll find yourself having to stop in the middle of reading it to implement the great ideas you've just read. There were multiple times where my mind burst open with amazing new short-term and long-term ideas and I HAD to do something about it right then. And that's the whole point of the book. Stop making excuses for not doing the things you love and start doing them - now. So much to love about the book. I encourage you to buy the book and read the whole story.

This will be your new favorite book! 7. März 2013
Von AshleyWebb76 - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

This is the first book I've ever reviewed and I'm writing because this THE POWER OF STARTING SOMETHING STUPID IS REFRESHING! I read Seth Godin, Dan Pink, Malcolm Gladwell, Covey, Ferriss, and the classic business books and I realize I subconsciously expect a similar feel from each of them. This book took takes it to a new level. The author just nailed it. It's timely and so easily implementable, I can't imagine reading this book and not having breakthroughs.
Here's what I think it is:
1. At the end of the day, business books show you a list of things you need to be doing better. Thats important but this one is so light and freeing based on what I'm already doing. It taps in to the power of following your heart, taking action, really taking action. Read this and all of the sudden you find yourself doing the things you've dreamed of doing for a long time. Richie is incredibly persuasive in reframing what we all know, which is making mistakes and doing "Stupid" things is awesome. He just strips the heaviness out of it. It really feels like it's just an invitation to the party and you've already earned your way in.

It is truly INCREDIBLE to me that this is Richie Norton's first physical published book. He's young and the testimonials by the big guns are enough a reason to buy this book. So thats my review. I highly recommend buying this book and jumping in it immediately!

Richie Norton's book is life changing. It will get you excited to wake up in the morning again, ready to work on your "stupid" project. The chapter on Authenticity is worth the price alone. Be prepared to be inspired, and ready to take on your fears. Get ready to live a good life!

The Power of Starting Something Stupid 26. Februar 2013
Von Lollipops - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Gebundene Ausgabe
What if the smartest people in the world understand something that the rest of us don't? (They do.) What if they know that in order to achieve success, they will sometimes have to do things that others may initially perceive as stupid?

The fact of the matter is that the smartest people in the world don't run from stupid, they lean into it (in a smart way). In The Power of Starting Something Stupid, Richie Norton redefines stupid as we know it, demonstrating that life-changing ideas are often tragically mislabeled stupid.

What if the key to success, creativity, and fulfillment in your life lies in the potential of those stupid ideas? This deeply inspiring book will teach you:

• How to crush fear, make dreams happen, and live without regret.
• How to overcome obstacles such as lack of time, lack of education, or lack of money.
• The 5 actions of the New Smart to achieve authentic success.

No more excuses. Learn how to start something stupid—the smartest thing you can do. Drawing on years of research, including hundreds of face-to-face interviews and some of the world's greatest success stories past and present, Richie shows you how stupid is the New Smart—the common denominator for success, creativity, and innovation in business and life.

I admit to going into this book with some trepidation. But the book is written in an across-the-kitchen-table style, friendly, personable, and informative. I learned things—such as Walt Disney was once fired for having “no imagination.” And Elvis Presley was told he had “no talent, and go back to truck driving.” Wow. And you know the rest of the story in these two cases.

The author shares stores that are heart-breaking. Stories that are empowering. Stories that simply make you shake your head in amazement. Which makes me wonder now if my son’s stupid idea is really so stupid… Maybe he should give it a try. The worst he could do is fail. The most—is succeed beyond his wildest dreams.

If you have a wild idea that everyone says is stupid—don’t discount it. Go buy THE POWER OF STARTING STUPID and learn how to crush fear, make dreams happen and live without regret.

I have a lot of stupid ideas 6. März 2013

The books helps inspire in a time when people are afraid to take risks. Don't be fooled. This book isn't only about starting a business. It's much more. A life lesson kind of book. I will definitely open it up at least once a year to rekindle the advice.
