3.0 von 5 Sternen Not for everyone 10. Juli 2014

Pros: The exercises are explained well.
Love how there is an exercise schedule.

Cons: Having to use an exercise ball.

In my case, the cons outweigh the pros simply because I cannot bring an exercise ball into work rendering quite a few of the exercises listed useless.

5.0 von 5 Sternen An Excellent Book for anyone stuck at a desk all day 18. Juni 2014
Von Dennis Waller - Veröffentlicht auf
Format:Kindle Edition|Verifizierter Kauf
I ran across this title and thought about it. I do spend hours stuck at a desk and at times, just want to break up the monotony so I picked up this gem. I was blown away. This book is written from the heart and the author has first hand knowledge of the importance of exercise. Kent Burden spent 9 months in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down from a football injury while in college. After months of rehabilitation, Kent was able to walk again and has never looked back. His path to physical fitness was forged during that time. With that passion, Kent teaches the same techniques that helped him get into the best shape of his life.

This isn't one of those, "Do as I say, not as I do" Rather it is, "Look at what I have accomplished and you can too!" As an author of several books on physical fitness, Kent is always looking for opportunities to help advance the benefits of exercising for the average person out there. And this book is a testament to that commitment.

On top of that, after checking out his website, I discovered that Kent Burden is certified as a AFAA Advanced Personal Trainer Certification, AFAA and IFPA Personal Trainer Certification, AFAA Primary Group Fitness Certification, Physical Mind Institute Pilates Instructor Certification, Master Wellness Coach Certification – The Wellness Evolution, Spa 100-Hour Yoga Certification. Balanced Body Pilates Certification. Stott Pilates Certification, Yogafit Training Systems International, Yoga Instructor Training, Levels I & II, Training the Trainers, Fitness Ball Certification, Halcyon Center Massage Therapist Certification, Johnny G Spinning Certification, West International Water Fitness Certification, Biosensory Systems Systematic Touch Trainer Certification. This guy has made a major commitment to mastering the art of physical fitness and I love his passion for it. He serves as an inspiration to anyone on the road to a better, healthier life.

I was looking for a book to give me a few tips on how to take a little break from working at the desk. What I found was a book written with humor, intelligence, wisdom, and insight on how to change not only my life and health but my mind as well. This book is a gem and I am grateful to have found it. This book and more importantly, this author is someone I can highly recommend.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Amazing Book, Meaty, Packed With Exercises You Can Do Anywhere 25. Juni 2014

WOW. This is a unique book, in that the exercises here can be done while working
AND more importantly without disturbing anyone in your workplace.
Some of the exercises can be done without the people around you even being aware
that you're doing them.

These exercises can be done while at work, while commuting/traveling for long hours,
anytime, anywhere. The exercises target upper body, lower body, and even your back.
This makes sure you are fit, it increases your metabolism, burns more fat, and keeps you
healthy and reduces cardiovascular risks and other diseases.

There is very little fluff, and the info is all meat, something you can use RIGHT NOW even
as you read this book.

Overall, this book is excellent, I will certainly use a lot of the exercises from it.
Kent Burden knows what he's talking about, and highly recommend this book.

5.0 von 5 Sternen A great book for anyone who sits all day at the office! 27. Juni 2014
Von Alan Winters - Veröffentlicht auf

This book works on so many levels. It's authoritative and informative as Kent presents a boatload of science-based evidence on all the bad things that happen to your health - disease, cancer, bad back - when you sit too much at work. But he also makes this information accessible and understandable as the book is written in an incredibly user-friendly manner. Eye-opening, empowering and behavior changing. Kent presents a great of array of stuff to do at your desk that are actually very do-able. It's not just exercises, it's really cool and simple things that you can do to "re-design" your office to improve your health (who would think about the size of your water bottle or glass being linked to your health?!). This book should resonate with anyone who leads a typical sedentary, 40+ hour/week office lifestyle.

Like most of us I'm always trying to get more exercise into my life and was recommended this book by a friend. All I can say is wow. Kent has written a life changing and life enhancing book that everyone who has to spend hours sitting should read. In it Kent does not nag but gently persuades you and encourages you to get more activity into your life on a daily basis. He shows you how to fit more activity into your life and explains why it is so important. There are sections on sneaky exercises you can do without anyone knowing and other sections on upper body, lower body etc.
This is a comprehensive book written by someone who is obviously in love with what he does. If you are looking for a way to become more healthy or to fit more exercise into your life I highly recommend this book.
