1.0 von 5 Sternen Haven't we read it before ... 16. März 2013

Typical U.S. self-help book, read it, heard it, done it... Moreover, I found it to be terribly b-o-r-i-n-g and a mish-mash of Seven Habits, GTD, etc. I have to admit, haven't finished it yet...been sitting there, waiting... May wait forever though.

2.0 von 5 Sternen Read the original "The Now Habit", forget about this one. 27. November 2010
Von Hector M. Renteria Hdz - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Gebundene Ausgabe|Verifizierter Kauf
The original version is great and really helps overcome procrastination; however, this version is not what its title implies: Those same principles applied at work. This book has a whole chapter for Effective Communication techniques and some other chapters which have nothing to actually do with the Now Habit (covered in the original "The now habit"). For other purposes I would have bought other titles.
Please, if you have not read the original book, don't hesitate to buy it if you have problems with procrastination. You actually don't need this book to know how to apply that knowledge to your job.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Excellent Advice in Few Words 27. November 2010

First I disagree with the reviewer who says you don't need this second book of Fiore's. There is a lot of good information in this volume that isn't in the first and it is organized quite differently. This is truly an excellent little volume packed with loads of practical tips. It is a short book without a lot of useless filler and that makes it even better. I admit I thought it started a little slow but ends with a bang. If you struggle with procrastination, this book is an excellent choice.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Very helpful 15. September 2010

Like "The Now Habit", this book is very helpful and packed with insight about the kind of self talk that leads to defeat and procrastination, and the type of self talk that leads to moving forward, production, and success. I think that the theme of this book could be "start now, instead of getting wrapped up in your head about finishing". This is a slim book, but I feel that the author packs more insight into the book than many authors in books far thicker. I like the way the author includes insights from the military and other researchers. I highly recommend this book for any who - like me - have a problem with procrastination, and who tend to be too "in our heads" while we work.

5.0 von 5 Sternen If this doesn't cure you, nothing will... 9. September 2010
Von Scobie Redfern - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

Any reader ever seriously interested in overcoming procrastination will recognize the name Neil Fiore, PhD. THE NOW HABIT, written by him more than twenty years ago, remains the outright #1 work to read on the subject. (One simple, entirely original technique within its pages, The Unschedule, is absolutely life-changing.) And THE NOW HABIT AT WORK continues with Mr. Fiore's ideas on motivating oneself to, well........ START!

I honestly feel the book is a work of self-help brilliance. Chapter Two, "Time and Life Management", really stood out for me. One simple paragraph in particular, a brief three sentences in length, made a light bulb go off over my head that was so bright it probably got reported by the Weather Channel. Any reader who really wraps their mind around the idea it expresses will find life simultaneously simpler and more productive.

The back-cover blurb by author Daniel F. Seidman, PhD, explains the above much better than I can; Neil's writing "makes the reader say 'of course' as if they are learning something they knew all along but couldn't quite grasp." Yes, the "Aha" moments in these pages are many. But don't let the apparent simplicity of THE NOW HABIT AT WORK fool you. Some of its content is actually somewhat abstract, and thus may be foolishly overlooked by those who casually skim self-help books searching for less atypical notions.

No one on the planet understands the nature of procrastination better than Neil Fiore, PhD. And the tools and tips he's gathered since his first book on the subject twenty-two years ago are all useful gems.

Get it. Read it. But only if you want to finally actually do something about not doing something.

5.0 von 5 Sternen Incredibly valuable - another masterpiece by Dr Fiore 27. Oktober 2013

I have "The Now Habit" which I've used successfully. I highly recommend it to anyone but especially those with a procrastination problem.

The book was so good, I decided to get this one even if there was only a few additional details not already covered in "The Now Habit". I was pleasantly surprised to find that while there is a natural overlap and evolution in the content, all of the content is either new, or presents an *actionable* set of tools you can immediately implement.

This is an amazing book: straightforward, simple and action-focused. This is worth many times the actual book value.
