First of all, having bought this book, I was astonished by the size - 160 pages! Then, looking through it, it astonished me even more. I think it's one of the closest descriptions of weapons, armour, and battle scenes that has ever been published in addition to a film.
I find it truly great that filmmakers, having had more success than even dreamed of with their work, still take their time together with artists and writers to publish such a book, and it is not the only one, which gives us so much more insight in the world of The Lord of the Rings, even more than the book can offer. Though Tolkien for me is the most perfect and wonderful author of this millennium, he did not give so much thought and care - or at least he didn't let us know - to the different kinds of weapons, of armory, etc. This job has been fortunately taken on by the Weta Workshop Desing Team, who put so much love and care into details to honor Tolkien and to give his work even more width. They have my deepest respect...
