I very much enjoyed this book as I found it both comprehensive and approachable (unlike many other books on EU law). I would say this is compulsory reading for anyone having an interest in European integration; if you want to read only one book on recent changes to the institutional set-up in Europe then this is it! This book is a complete analysis, both legal and political, not only of the Lisbon Treaty, but also of the political background of its content and of the legal effect of its provisions. All the new institutions and procedures are carefully examined and their real meaning explained.
