This entry in the DH Audio "Generations Radio Theater presents Tales By American Masters" radio series is a good version with fine narration by Winifred Philips and a good musical score to accent the story. The only thing I have to complain about is that this is NOT an "Unabridged" reading of the Washington Irving story as advertised on the cassette case; this adaptation has been severely abridged, losing some of the more important elements of the story (such as Ichabod's life as schoolteacher, Brom Bones' history and rivalry with Ichabod, and the events after the night of Ichabod's terror-filled ride). Still, even with the cuts in the text, this tape is worth listening to in the darkness of your room to feel the chills run up your spine!
