I've never heard the name Peter Blauner before and I found this book by accident in a bargain bookstore.
How can I say, I partially think this book is a kind of Beverly Hills 90210, just a little bit more complicated and a few years older with different problems. Some things are not quite logical, though. Like being in a small town but the two main characters haven't seen each other for more than 20 years. Or even that Lynn never had a chance to see the new house of Sandi which is to my understanding just around the corner.
This book starts pretty slow introducing the characters including their past. It gets a couple of nice twists along the way. I am somehow a bit disappointed toward the end, somehow it gets a little too predictable. Once you're getting there, it has this typical bad guy - good guy thing, friendship lasts forever kind of thing.
Another thing that bothers me is the permanent mention of various brands (Cars, watch, PDA, etc.). It might be intentionally by the writer, but I personally failed to see any importance doing that.
All things considered, I give this book 3 stars.
