The author does an amazing job of telling her story by intertwining them with those of some of the interventions she has done. She has been through it all and has managed to turn it into something positive in her life and now helps countless others, not only addicts but their families as well. This book is a raw uncensored look at the disease of addiction and the havoc it reeks on the addict and those they come in contact with. Yes parts of this book are gut wrenching and sad, but from it comes an understanding of addiction and in a lot of cases the amazing and commendable accomplishment of overcoming the stranglehold of addiction. The author is brutally honest about her own story and holds nothing back, she really is an inspiration!
