SHEILA BURNFORD (1918—1984), a Scottish-born Canadian author, wrote books of fiction and nonfiction for both children and adults. In World War II she was an ambulance driver. Her most famous work was the children's classic The Incredible Journey.

Ein sehr schönes Buch, ich kann es sehr empfehlen. Auch für Kinder ab 10 Jahre geeignet. Sehr schöne Beschreibungen, man bekommt einsicht in die Denke der Hunde und der Katze. Liest sich gut.

Our names are Amiee and Nicole and we are from North Broward Preparatory School. We read the book,The Incredible Journey for an English Project. It was a good book. The beginning of the book was little boring. Other than that, it was pretty exciting. It was a very adventurous story. The Disney movies, The Incredible Journey and Homeward Bound were based on the book, but had some differences. At the beginning of the book, the animals run away from their current owner, in search of their original owners and home. Along the way, they run into many obstacles. If you are a pet lover and like adventures, this is a good book to read.

This book is about 2 dogs and a cat that set out to find their master and human family.
I was impressed with their instincts for survival and loyalty to their family. How they stuck together and helped each other was the most important idea (theme) of the story.
The ending will make you cry. It is so sweet and tender. Anyone who has been separated from their dog or cat will understand this book.
