The slim and cheaply produced "book" contains an un-edited diploma thesis of low standard, written by a student of English literature and obviously not proof-read by a native speaker. Naive in style, of superficial content on Bharati Mukherjee's oeuvre and academically unsound, the diploma thesis is also somewhat dated (although publication date is 2008, it states Ms. Mukherjee's latest novel to be Desirable Daughters, which was published in 2002 and has since been followed by The Tree Bride, published in 2004).
It cannot be recommended to anyone working seriously in the field of literary studies.
Verlag Dr. Müller offers free publication of university theses to about anyone who wants their thesis seen in print. They basically turn their "authors'" pdfs into a "book" that looks more like a stash of glued-together copies. The price of €49,- is therefore tantamount to a rip-off.
