Pressestimmen

“In showing the connection between the Hermetic Code and the genetic code, Michael Hayes points to the fact that the essence of evolution can also be found in religion, and therefore in the realm of the evolution of consciousness. . . . What he has discovered could be as important as the original discovery of DNA. Like Jurij Moskvitin and Jeremy Narby, he has created a new paradigm--that is, he is looking at our familiar universe from a new angle and making us aware of magical possibilities.” (Colin Wilson, from the Foreword)

"The author is an administrator at the University of Central England, so he is writing from a point of view that is professionally and educationally unbiased toward his subject. This is somewhat unusual in this type of writing and allows him to more readily relate to the average reader." (David Paulsen, New Age Retailer)

Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende

Michael Hayes is an administrator at the University of Central England and is the author of The Infinite Harmony. He first recognized a common link between all major religions and esoteric doctrines--and later that this symmetry exists among the fundamental sciences--while working in post-revolutionary Iran, where he was able to observe all the major religions practiced side by side. He lives with his wife and family in Birmingham, England.

HASH(0x9f890408) von 5 Sternen A good book but difficult to read 2. September 2008
Von galadriel - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
This is not an easy read; however I enjoyed it and many of the proposed ideas are eyeopening and, I believe, important for our times. The reader should have a good understanding of science, particulary quantum mechanics, sub-particle physics, and molecular biology. Some knowledge of music theory will also be very helpful. On the other side of the scale, the reader should also have some background in esoteric ideas and be somewhat familiar with the tenets of the world's major religions. Without some background knowledge about these things one will probably be lost at some point in this book. I had much physics training a long time ago, and while I am not a scientist, this past education definately helped me to get through this book. The basic ideas that are proposed are that the universe is ordered according to the "hermetic code", certain numerical relations that repeat and mirror themselves according to the old hermetic tenet "As above, so below". The author leads the reader to discover that these numerical relations are the same on the microcosmical level of the atom, the molecule, and the DNA (the genetic code) as well as on the macroscopic level, the solar system, the galaxy, etc, and everywhere in between (the human brain). The end fazit is that we live in a holographic universe, where everything is essentially light and music, light and sound, something that many students of spiritual paths will have discovered in a way different from scientific logic.
He also devotes much time to ancient Egypt and proposes that the immense monumemts such as the Pyramids (with stone blocks weighting up to 1200 tons!) were built, according to musical and psychic influences (telekinesis). These ideas in themselves were not new to me, but what was new and fascinating to me was that here was a scientific approach to them. The scientific approach is sometimes a bit tedious for someone who may already "know" these things from more direct perception, however I believe it is books like this one that offer an important bridge between the scientific community and those more spiritually attuned.

HASH(0x9f782be8) von 5 Sternen An Exciting Read 18. September 2009
Von Chiwah Carol Slater - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
Groundbreaking science today coincides with ancient philosophies and religions from all over the world in identifying distinct numerical patterns that would seem to hold the secrets of the universe.

In The Hermetic Code in DNA , Michael Hayes reveals that these patterns are connected by a precise code, the Hermetic Code, apparently known to ancient cultures but lost over time. Grounded in this code are the harmonic ratios of the octaves underlying what we call music, the overtones of which make a striking appearance in the very basis of biological life: DNA.

So... life is music. Let's tune in...

The opening chapter begins with a discussion of archaeological, geologic and mythological evidence indicating that the origin of scientifically sophisticated human civilization on earth dates back far longer than modern conventional wisdom would allow. Prehistoric civilizations, Hayes tells us, seem to have been almost entirely preoccupied with the idea of order and harmony on a universal scale. In his search to ascertain the origin of the Hermetic Code, he finds evidence of its most fundamental component--the octave, the sacred constant--dating back at least 75,000 years.

The book continues with an exploration into a higher octave of consciousness known to the ancients but now obscure, the secrets of the great pyramids, the essence of time and space, reincarnation, mathematics, religious traditions and more... and how all of it relates to the code that determines, for each and every one of us, the essence of who we are.

Clearly written, thoroughly indexed and packed with compelling descriptions of multitudes of phenomena we've all heard about but of which most of us have little understanding, The Hermetic Code in DNA is an exciting and wonderful read.

HASH(0x9f5e80f0) von 5 Sternen Piece of Pi 7. Oktober 2008
Von MysticJaguar - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
22/7. That about sums up most of the concrete information in this book. The author provides a wide ranging survey around metaphysical concepts surrounding the nature of reality and Hermetics. If you don't know anything about Hermetics, resonance, or any metaphysical books printed in the past few years then this is a good place to start.

However, if you are aware of many of the authors around alternative human histories then your search for the secrets that this book may claim to have at face value will leave you largely frustrated. You get short segments around the octaves comprising 22 notes (8 notes to the octave, thus 7 notes *3 octaves +1 to cap the transition to the fourth octave, 7*3+1 = 22). And you get some cursory math around Pi in the pyramids of Giza and Central America. But that's about all you are going to be able to point to here.

There are many interesting bits here. The author surely does draw from a great number of sources. But in the end you feel that the synthesis of information as to where the author was pointing to never really got concretized.

If you want to get into harmonics and resonance then better places to start are with either Nassim Haramein (resonance project) or Hazrat Inayat Khan (a Sufi).

HASH(0x9f7dc0cc) von 5 Sternen Great ideas with Weak Credibility 19. Juni 2012
Von Filler Joe - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
The book forgets its audience. It's written for a general audience, but, in truth, the text only preaches to the choir. Like other reviewers mentioned, this book bounces all over the place, making it only accessible to those already familiar with many of its concepts. Thus, this book, although worth the read, is either incomprehensible or unacceptable to most readers.

I guess what I'm saying is that you'll understand most of what Hayes is getting at if you're already on the same wavelength he is on--if you get my drift. Additionally, I'm also saying the book could be organized better and use more examples. I already understand much of what Hayes mentions, but even I had to squirm when he shared great ideas, yet he provided poor examples that failed to satisfy my craving for an alternative explanation that said it the way I always wanted to hear it. Students of Western esotericism probably know what I mean here.

(Furthermore, Hayes should quote experts more to increase his credibility. Many times I felt he oversimplified matters. I wanted the other side to comment, but often that other side remained MIA. At the very least, he should quote indirect sources more and establish just how much he knows of certain disciplines and/or how much he researched those disciplines. Hayes' lack of credibility, despite my support for his ideas, left me disappointed.)

I like Hayes' Hermeticism in DNA exploration, but his analogy is overkill. Although I agree that the similarities exist, it is an overuse of the concept when Hayes says all of the universe works in the same way. The rabbit hole runs deeper. Hayes is a very insightful person/author; his book is testament to this. Unfortunately, Hayes misses a lot, too.

Like what? Well, for example, Hayes talks about three fundamental frequencies in nature and how they support an organic macro/microcosm. Other esotericists would point out that the organic analogy is short-sighted and that an electrical model would be more accurate. Hayes' DNA model to explain everything is helpful, but all biological constructs are ultimately electrical. It's a Russian doll effect, but which is the smallest doll? Even the Old Kingdom Egyptians--those Hayes admires in his book--admitted that some concepts were outside the rational mind. However, the biological model is neither the smallest doll, nor close to that fact.

I find Hayes' book to be a great addition, but I wouldn't add it to my arsenal of "vital literature." His book is a stream of consciousness product, a fun read where I find myself connected to a like-minded explorer of ideas. Although he breaks the aloneness that comes with being an avant-garde, he doesn't shake the foundations of my reality. Maybe if he made his book more accessible, he could open doors for other people who should be more open-minded.

HASH(0x9f5f3888) von 5 Sternen Prepare To Expand Your Mind... 29. April 2013
Von Skypp - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

Michael Hayes is not a formally trained scientist yet in spite of that, or perhaps because of that, his book has the clear tone of authenticity and "elegance". For those who wish to go beyond the formal, basic, scientific knowledge presented by many college professors, Hayes draws from an understanding of music, esoteric philosophy, and the I Ching. He is part of a small cadre of brilliant and brave people dedicated to taking us to a higher understanding of DNA, and the ancient knowledge (which many scientists now dismiss as myth) of the inherent intelligence it possesses. We are in the middle of a revolution of understanding. Spirituality and science are merging (as they once were) and Hayes presents complex material in clear and interesting ways. If you love Graham Hancock, Colin Wilson, and many others in the forefront of the New Science of Humankind, then you will love this book. Enjoy!
