I just finished reading the Handbook of Global User Research. I was very impressed by both the breadth and depth of the book. Schumacher brought together a great cast of user researchers from around the world. I especially appreciated the wide variety of countries represented, including places like Turkey, UAE, Malaysia, and other places you would not normally see in a book. I also found it very helpful to read about how other research methods such as eye tracking, unmoderated testing, and web analytics fit into the context of global user research. But, my favorite part of this book are all the helpful tips and tricks for managing a user research study that extends beyond your home country. I can easily see how this book will save UX professionals a lot of time, money, and hassles.
