Pressestimmen

“Vegetable dishes at their brightest and most imaginative! Clotilde adds a touch of surprise to every recipe. Who needs beef in shepherd’s pie when you can have lentils and broccoli? Not Clotilde . . . and now not moi.”
—Dorie Greenspan

“ ‘Food blogger’ doesn’t do Clotilde Dusoulier justice. True, she’s amassed a cult following with her pioneering website, but she’s also a journalist with her finger on the pulse of Parisian culture—and an expert and wholly original cook. With its delicious, vegetable-driven take on French cuisine, The French Market Cookbook is a triumph of all Dusoulier brings to the table, as enlightened and joyous as the woman behind it.”
—Dan Barber

“Coaxing out each ingredient's true, rich flavor remains the book's greatest triumph … Dusoulier's refreshingly simple, yet comprehensive, manual urges that we go to the market to "be surprised and seduced by the ingredients," to which we answer "oui."”
 —Saveur.com

“We know the French have a way with butter, cheese and wine, but they're also supertalented with preparing green beans, eggplant and cabbage. And while "healthy French food" may sound like an oxymoron, Clotilde Dusoulier, who lives in Paris and writes the blog Chocolate and Zucchini, promises veggies don't have to be doused in cream or mixed with a pile of pasta to taste delicious.”
– Oprah.com, The Best Cookbooks of Summer 2013

“Dusoulier, you may know, is the wildly popular blogger behind Chocolate and Zucchini, and with her charming new book she is showcasing, as the subtitle puts it, “Vegetarian Recipes From My Parisian Kitchen.” She’s a flexitarian these days, but with the cookbook she wants to show readers how to coax flavor out of the best locally grown, seasonal fruits and vegetables without relying on meats (mock or otherwise) or heavy amounts of cheese or even too many carbs.”
– Washington Post

“90 seasonal recipes that work magic with produce available from your local farmers.”
– DailyCandy

“These recipes achieve a simple elegance that underscores, without overwhelming, the natural perfection of seasonal ingredients.”
- Boston Globe

“If you can’t make it to France this summer, The French Market Cookbook by Clotilde Dusoulier will teach your Union Square spoils to speak francais. No heavy white sauces or elaborate steps here, just regional, ingredient-driven, rustic-elegant fare … Get the taste of jealousy out of your mouth with cherry-rose compote or peach clafoutis, ooh la la.”
– Edible Manhattan

“One doesn't generally think of French cuisine as being vegetarian-friendly, yet vegetables are front and center in Clotilde Dusoulier's French Market Cookbook. In this charming new vegetarian cookbook, the Chocolate & Zucchini author highlights seasonal, meatless dishes that anyone can love.”
– TheKitchn.com

“This clever book is arranged by season and inspires pangs of longing in anyone who has ever gone to a produce market in Paris.”
– France Magazine

"Vibrant photographs throughout highlight the textures, colors, and simplicity of Dusoulier's fare and will inspire readers to either cook or book a trip to France."
– Publishers Weekly

What a Treat! 2. Juli 2013
Von cjduck - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
AAhhh, the joy of cooking! One of the hallmarks of any successful summer for me is the chance to read through old and favorite cookbooks as well as to welcome new ones. I was rewarded this year with the arrival of Clotilde Dusoulier's new cookbook, The French Market Cookbook. This delicious book is filled with fresh vegetarian recipes gleaned from the author's Parisian roots and wide-spread international travels. Departing from the confines of traditional French cuisine but saving and savoring the best, the author offers a sumptuous array of main dishes, appetizers, sides, salads, soups and desserts - all organized seasonally, photographed skillfully and artfully, and made accessible to even the most unseasoned cook. Ms. Dusoulier provides the most interesting introductions and anecdotes as accompaniments to her recipes, and her instructions and hints are always on the mark, almost instinctively addressing the questions on ingredients and processes that might occur to the American home cook. Most inviting may be the attitude with which the author encourages us in this book: her authentic celebration of fresh, healthful, creative recipes is offered with simplicity and good cheer, and we feel invigorated and empowered to start a new adventure in our own kitchens. Those who have followed Ms. Dusoulier's exceptional cooking blog, Chocolate&Zucchini, through the years, are already familiar with the author's style. Her curiosity, approachability and enthusiasm, as well as the hard work which clearly goes into recipe selection, creation and testing, delight her followers around the world. In this day of inflated reality stars and so-called "super chefs", it is refreshing to read thoughtful postings and entertaining observations from such a talented young chef who invites us to share her joy of cooking. This new cookbook is sure to entice and to satisfy - I'm off to the garden and the kitchen!

Unique vegetarian recipes - great cookbook for vegetarians and non-vegetarians 17. August 2013
Von SnowyLeopard - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
Well rounded vegetarian recipes using unique ingredients and fresh vegetables. I am not as creative in the kitchen as others might be so I am always on the lookout for a recipe book that might teach me how to make pastries (tarts, galettes, socas, and cookies) or soups using healthy ingredients like spelt or buckwheat or great spices like Star Anise (which is unique to me while it may be common to others). I am also a lover of ice cream and she provides a unique recipe for making ice cream that I have not seen in other ice cream books making books. And it's an easy recipe too, no cooking of the milk and egg because they aren't even ingredients. If you have ever found your cous cous to be bland, she provides a simple spice concoction called the Ras El Hanout which will solve that problem. A great cookbook with wonderfully flavorful recipes. Her emphasis on focusing on produce which is in season is fantastic. There are lentil recipes as well. Great for vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians.

Merci, Clotilde 21. September 2013
Von H. M. - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com

I'm a long-time reader of chocolateandzucchini.com and have a few of Clotilde's recipes in my go-to queue. Her ideas in this book are beautifully presented, seasonal and favor a flavor profile I love. A tartine with avocado and thinly sliced radishes is lovely---and there's a pasta with radish tops as well. The eggplant and fresh herb tabbouleh combines whole wheat couscous with harissa, tahini, lemon, basil and mint (I didn't add the cilantro). Her instructions are clear and the photos take an interesting approach--quite appetizing, more homey than slick. I wouldn't have her any other way.
