In The Final Detail Win and Myron are looking into the murder of a client--a troubled New York Yankees baseball player called Clu Haid. Clu was apparently shot to death by Esperanza Diaz, who just happens to be Myron's best friend and partner in the sport's agency. Esperanza is hiding something, but Myron isn't sure if it has to do with her job, or with her private life. His search for the truth takes him back to a shabby incident from his own past, and to times he would rather forget. Author Harlan Coben casually drops in dozens of poignant moments of humanity that keep us--and Myron--firmly grounded in reality.

This is series writing at its best! Harlen Coben has created the most realistic, complex, likeable, yet human, character in crime fiction. Myron Bolitar is somebody I'd like to meet and get to know. Sure, he has his faults; that's what makes him so interesting! All the novels have been layered with brilliant plotting, clever denouements, and some of the most fleshed out characters I've ever had the pleasure to read. This one is a gripping and suspenseful entry in this wonderful series! Harlan should try and put out two of these a year, they're so good. Of course, if that would mean sacrificing the incomparable quality, I guess I'll just have to wait for my yearly fix. By the way, my wife introduced me to Harlan about eight months ago, and I read all of his books at once. I see now why she was so anxious to get his books once a year. I had the pleasure of getting them all at once! Keep up the amazingly good work, Mr. Coben. I may be your greatest NEW fan!

I READ THIS BOOK IN THREE (3) HOURS! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! FOR THOSE OF YOU NON-COBENATICS LISTEN UP! THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO READ ABOUT THE WORLD'S FUNNIEST, HONEST AND LOYAL-TO-A-FAULT SPORTS AGENT, MYRON BOLITAR! SINCE THE PLOT OF THE BOOK PUTS MYRON'S PARTNER AND BEST FRIEND ESPARANZA IN JEOPARDY, I KNEW THIS WOULD BE THE BEST OF THE SERIES AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. THE MAIN REASON I READ THIS SERIES IS FOR THE CHARACTERS. EVERY CHARACTER IS HUMAN, NOT SUPER HEROES SAVING THE DAY. NO ONE IS WRITTEN IN BLACK AND WHITE. EVERY CHARACTER IS COMPLEX, EVEN MYRON BOLITAR, THE HERO OF THIS SERIES HAS SOME MAJOR FLAWS. BUT THAT'S WHAT MAKES THIS SERIES SO APPEALING. I WAS EXTREMELY PLEASED THAT BIG CYNDI WAS GIVEN A MAJOR ROLE IN THIS BOOK AND I HOPE MR. COBEN UTILIZES HER GREAT TALENTS IN THE FUTURE BOOKS. I AM READY TO RESERVE A COPY OF THE NEXT MYRON BOLITAR NOVEL RIGHT NOW! SO MR. COBEN STAY TRUE TO YOUR NEW JERSEY ROOTS AND GET WORKING ON THE BOLITAR NOVEL (IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED IT ALREADY).

This was my second or third and also my last Myron Bolitar. The jokes, the dialogues are always the same. In my opinion if you read one MB thats more than enough. And dont read this one. "Darkest Fear" for instance is much better. I found this one rather boring and difficult to understand. I still dont know why Esperanza was not talking. I shall read more Harlan Coben's but not with MB. "Hold Tight" for instance was a great book. I will just have to find another good one without MB.
