I recently checked out this book in hopes to spruce up my training program and resources for my online faculty. I got more than I bargained for with this book! The ideas and resources packed within these 175 pages have added 5 new projects on my list including a readiness quiz for online faculty, an online faculty mentor program, an advanced online workshop, and a course quality rubric. Great suggestions by these amazing authors once again!

If you are just entering the field or are an administrator looking for ideas regarding how to set up evaluation or development efforts for new online instructors there are a few good gems in here. However, if you have been teaching the online or hybrid paradigm for more than a couple of years there really isn't anything innovative included.

Heavily focused on prepping new teachers for the online paradigm and how to set up faculty training of the technology aspects but tends to crutch on "just ask someone who has done it before" mentoring model, rather than providing any substantial guidance in the book itself.

My expectations were higher for the book based on the description and the authors. The key nugget is the rubric chart in the back, which is good for people who have no idea were to start in the evolution of online training but is of little value for those practicing for a few years.
