I carry a stack of Real Books with me to gigs and was hoping this would replace the stack, but this is almost useless. The table of contents does not work. Sometimes, clicking on a song title takes you to the song, but most of the time it takes you back to the preface. What's more, the location numbers have no relation to the page numbers in the book, so clicking 'go to' doesn't help. Yes, all the songs are there, and if you painstakingly forward through them, you can eventually find the one you're looking for, but that's almost useless on a gig, when your bandmates with books have already found the right page much faster with paper.
I've tried it on my Kindle, on an iPad, and on my Mac. It doesn't work anywhere.
I shouldn't have paid for a beta version. I'll be scanning my books into pdf format and using another app to read them. I'll probably have to give an illegal copy to my friends to make up for the money I wasted. I would rather, however, have paid for a copy that works, as it's a lot easier than wasting my time scanning.
If someone from Hal Leonard reads this, I either want my money back, or a copy that works. Be glad to change my review when this happens.
Hopeful premise, useless implementation. Avoid this till they fix it.
