HASH(0x92879414) von 5 Sternen One of the very best 5. September 2012
Von HG Moore - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
This is one of the best books in the universe of bodymind therapies. It is deeply practical as well as beautifully philosophical. David is a leading teacher of body work and a very gifted, inspiring writer. Every sentence is well thought out and the illustrations are excellent. It reminds me of a musical composition where every note is "just right". I recommend this book unstintingly to anyone who is interested in structure and energy, in body and mind. My perspective is: I am in my 15th year of practice, have read many books on body work, attended many classes, and done many sessions. My practice is predominately Ortho-Bionomy and Zero Balancing.

After 6 years of doing massage, I finally have a name for the style of massage I do. I love the distinction of deep tissue vs deep massage. I have worked at refining my technique to work at the level where the muscle responds to my touch. This book has been a reinforcement of what I have felt in my clients' bodies.

Von Earthian - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
This book is noteworthy and exemplary for its philosophic view point: Lauterstein is an engaging mind reaching outward to apply energy work, breathing, and pondering various dimensions of touch. The techniques are not what I would call illuminating for a seasoned massage therapist, which is to say, I have leaned them all long before reading this book, but they might be more helpful to a new massage therapist than an old salt.

While the author touches on all the basics of massage therapy, its real force pivots on, and delivers the goods, in his philosophical pondering. David pushes the envelope on the inner meaning of bodywork. The interconnections between therapist and client. Perhaps most importantly he takes a deep and wise look at the spiritual side of bodywork which is something that has been taboo, outside of energy work. Lauterstein sees no separation between the two: and in my opinion, he is right on the money. The body is part and parcel with interconnections to the spiritual realm. If I might be so bold as saying so, David is on the cutting edge of how two bodies morph through the bodywork process at its deepest levels toward a spiritual illumination that enhances the work. He reminds me of the old seasoned 'sage' passing on his existential experiences of bodywork and trying to open a portal for other therapists to journey on the other side while still holding the Center of the Present moment. No small task.

In my opinion this is where the rubber meets the road in bodywork, and the book well worth the price of admission.

HASH(0x92879c6c) von 5 Sternen Deep masage book 28. Juni 2014
Von Dr. Elaine R. Pitkin - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
The illustrations were far better than I have found in other manuals. The weakest part of the book was in the text referring to his fulcrum theory which I am still working on understanding. Somehow I do not feel it was adequately explained. I liked the spiritual aspects of his approach but technical and anatomical considerations were very sparse. It is probably a good book for senior massage therapists with a great deal of experience.

HASH(0x92879ba0) von 5 Sternen A very beautiful and informative book 20. Februar 2013

This book discusses not only massage techniques, which I found informative, but it also talks about the subtler, energetic aspects of massage therapy and the therapist, relating to self and the client.
