Kurzbeschreibung

When high school students Nate and Wendee go looking for a future beyond slum life, they soon find themselves mixed up in an outlaw group that wants to change the world. Some call them terrorists, but in a bleak future where the economy is powered by war and greed, they're the only group willing to challenge the status quo.

Armed with incredible Dimensional Manipulation technology and international resources, the group sets out to make a bold statement to the megacorporations--but when unexpected forces raise the stakes, the world stands ready to plunge into chaos... and for Nate and Wendee, their first mission may also be their last.

Believable World 28. April 2011
Von Anthony A. McFadden - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Von Amazon bestätigter Kauf
The fun thing about sci-fi novels is that you can create anything you want, as long as you maintain consistency in that world. The author certainly does that, with an imaginative creation of technologies that almost slide over to the magic side of the coin.

I with there was an option for 3.5 stars because it's better than a 3-star book, but lacks the smoothness required for a 4-star review. The they're/their and then/than type of typos pulled me out of the world and the characterisation rarely got beyond two-dimensional.

The plot was interesting and the action non-stop though and that almost made up for it. I'm looking forward to the sequel. A professional line edit will make a world of difference.
An Action-Packed SciFi Romp 27. April 2011
Von Rebecca Knight - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Von Amazon bestätigter Kauf
I really enjoyed this novel. From the time I started reading, it was action-packed sci fi fun, which is exactly why I bought it. The setting is a dystopian world run by the corporations where information is carefully controlled and war is waged by private companies instead of government armies. It's close enough to home to be chilling.

The author creates a ton of new, believable future tech and the action sequences are fast-paced and riveting.

I'd definitely snatch up anything else by this author. Thank you for the great read! Totally entertaining.
Action packed! 24. April 2011

The Chaos Gambit has a lot of interesting ideas and I really liked the premise. The author does a great job with realizing the the surrounds and actions sequences. Don't want to give too much away, but the DiME technology is a great concept. Although I do wish the author had given the same attention to detail to the plot and characters as he did the action sequences, sci-fi concepts and visualizations. Both the plot and the characters seemed inconsistent at times, some ideas and personae were fully realized and to be quiet honest, awesome, where others were tired cliches. Though this book does seem to be the first in a series, so some of those "2D" characters and nebulous plot points may become fully realized in future installments.

My suspension of disbelief was stretched at times, but never to the breaking point. And in addition to the action it does have some truly funny moments. (The Author recreated the Who's on First gag with NOTHING! :D)

The dialogue is believable and never strays into R-rated territory, so this could be a great series to get your tween-to-teenaged son reading. The Chaos Gambit reads like a video game plays: Very engaging and lots of fun. Downside: the price point seems a little high for such a short book (I finished it in about 5 hours) However, If the plot and characterization had been more consistant, I could have easily 5-starred this book.

Overall, a Great first effort from this author, and I personally hope to seem more soon.
