Great Book!!!

This book is really awesome. I love the 350-plus full color high resolution photos of real-world bloody gunshot wounds and other trauma. It has multiple chapters that explain step-by-step how to perform every basic and advanced medical procedure that may be needed in a combat environment. The author's credentials are excellent and they have years of experience behind them. The book has over 90 contributing editors / reviewers from throughout the world. Its definitely the best book of its type available. One author (Dr. Campbell) is the founder / director of BTLS / International Trauma Life Support, and another author (Dr. Heiskell) leads and directs the only tacmed school in the world authorized / accepted by the Department of Homeland Security. Another author (Dr. Wipfler) has done special ops with US Secret Service, US Marshals, and supports 3 SWAT teams, over 115 SWAT callouts. This book is also endorsed / supported by the American College of Emergency Physicians, so you know it's excellent quality. Overall a great book and highly recommend it!

Excellent EMS Text

I am involved in EMS education for a large foreign company. Part of these duties involves the training of our security forces that have tactical responsibilities. Having been forced to "make do" with standard EMS texts for several years, it is very nice to finally have a text that is directed at the tactical environment. After a pilot course with which the text was evaluated, it has become our standard text for tactically related EMS matters. I highly recommend it for those with tactical EMS training or response responsibilities.

Great Handbook!!

I was charged w/reworking all aspects of our EMS Training Classes w/n the corporation I work for (in the global geology industry). A huge job, I have to tell you! I have been looking for a clear, well written textbook to use for teaching first aid in many different situations, this has been what I was looking for. I assumed I would end up with many textbooks which my instructors would dislike, but this has covered all bases. Even situations we may encounter in areas with unstable gov't situations. AMAZING to find everything in one book.
