Timbuktu is a pup who becomes separated from his mother and goes on a search for a `permanent' home, using the lessons his mother taught him. A quick read, this short story is very well crafted and takes you through a full range of emotions as Timbuktu seeks his destiny. Ms Kolar-Brown has a knack for developing characters quickly and makes it easy to become immersed in the story, rooting for the little fellow as he bravely faces the world.
Very well edited with no formatting errors, this is a delightfully entertaining book. I highly recommend.

Not just for dog lovers or children

This story, whether you call it Short Story or Novella, is enjoyable for all ages. It may not be for children particularly. But I do know that my 92 year old mother and I, neither of us dog lovers, enjoyed listening to the kindle Text-to-Speech reading of it over speakers.
The first chapter was a bit uncomfortable but then it settled down with humor alternating with gentle drama. I will plan on rereading it.
Now I will try your Simon Grant mysteries.

Will appeal to a larger audience than "just" dog lovers, this is a story of what the spirit is capable of. The little puppy that could and did and his rag-tag band that triumphed in the end. At first, it might be a little dark but the story evolves and is told from Timbuktu's POV who just kind of shrugs off adversity because he doesn't know any better. Interesting human characters as well. Well written and suitable for children ages 7 and up as a self-read and for younger children if read to them and their questions (and there will be questions!) are answered in the spirit in which the book was written in.
Added bonus for my pet peeve - NO noticeable Kindle formatting errors. Well edited, a reading delight from that perspective as well.
