HASH(0x9a0d9bd0) von 5 Sternen Landmark Book, a Must-Read for EVERY Audio Engineer! 16. November 2011
Von L'alchemiste206 - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
Please disregard the review by Webmaster,DoctorProAudio.com because EVERY statement made in that review is inaccurate. Philip Giddings' Audio Systems Design and Installation is a landmark book that sets the standard by which all other such books should be judged. It is a thorough and complete bible on the subject. That it is currently out-of-print and without a publisher is a great shame. It deserves much better. Every Audio Engineer, Sound System Designer, Installer, and Technician should read and understand the contents of this book. The author brings a wealth of experience, technical expertise, and common sense to the subject while at the same time imparting precious wisdom one can use every day. The insight expressed that not every solution will work in every situation enables the reader to understand that the process of installation is a dynamic and ever-changing one. A professional installer never stops learning or exploring new solutions. He or she never loses sight of the ultimate goal of having clean-sounding, safe, and practical sound systems that serve the purposes for which they were designed.

I recommend reading this book from cover to cover and taking careful notes of the contents and specific information pertinent to one's work. Since the coverage of the book is vast, any given reader may not use all the information. But it is good at least to be exposed to it once. One never knows when one will need it.

Note to Amazon: Please consider acquiring the rights to this book and publishing it in electronic form. Many of us in the professional audio world would be grateful!

HASH(0x9a0d9fd8) von 5 Sternen The ONLY reference for audio interfacing 8. Juli 2009
Von Michael W. Hulbert - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
This book is still the only place I have found guidelines for interfacing every conceivable combination of audio gear. Also, its information on patchbays is a comprehensive guide on setting them up. If you are designing a studio, sound system, or other multimedia equipment, you need to read most of this book before you pickup your soldering iron.
Now we just need them to reprint it, I would buy 2 right now at the original price.

HASH(0x9a0db06c) von 5 Sternen THE Book when it comes to audio installations 9. Januar 2013
Von Ssound - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
This is a great book, the part about technical grounds for audio installations is worth the money all by its own. It covers everything you need to know about audio installations, from the trivial to the most important, ranging from electrical wiring, grounding, racks, harness, patchbays, connectors, hardware interconnection, servicing, cable types and materials etc... This is THE electrical audio bible.

As far as I know this book is one of a kind in its field, theres no other book which covers topics like electrical wiring and grounding directly focused towards the recording studio needs. It is definitely technically oriented, the math is by no means heavy duty but its definitely directed towards proffesional EE's or technicians rather than audio aficionados, yet the content of this book can be applied even to the smallest home recording studio.

Its a shame that this book is no longer being published.

HASH(0x9a0d9df8) von 5 Sternen Simply the best! 8. Juni 2004
Von Francis P. Biancamano III - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
This is the bible of audio interfacing. I truly could not get along without this book. It is written in a clear and concise manner and is well indexed. It truly covers just about every scenario. The only source that is required beyond this book for information on the studio interconnect jungle is a copy of the local Electrical Code. This due to the reality that what is best for the interconnecting and powering of an audio production facility is sometimes frowned upon by local codes. If you check most other reference materials on this subject this text will be in the bibliography. It is somewhat technical in nature so it is not for the laymen. Though don't let that put you off it will make you stronger for the effort. It is truly in my estimation the best source for the right way if you will.

HASH(0x9a0db534) von 5 Sternen Misleading title, Electrical Reference Handbook for Audio 19. Juni 2001
Von LaVerdadAlPoder - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
What's interesting about this book is that it covers aspects related to audio installations that is not normally covered in audio related books.
It deals practical installation issues such as AC power (e.g. regulation), grounding, earthing, interconnection, connectors, cable, wire termination and racking.
It is really a reference book for installers, not a book that you would read from start to finish.
The information is a bit obscure so the book is not all that useful for those without a strong engineering background.
