In this calendar are twelve high-quality reproductions of some of the more well-known of the great Roger Dean's iconic work, memorably found on the album covers of such bands as Yes, Greenslade and Budgie and hence in my eyeline almost constantly when I was a teenager. I was hooked on Dean's work from the moment I saw the "Fragile" record sleeve, and the poster versions of his flying elephants from the "Osibisa" covers were on my wall for years (I still love the art; I no longer have big enough walls to display it).
Older pieces have been digitally enhanced for the calendar before printing to avoid the problem with artifacts the reprints of the various books have suffered from in some cases. Spanning work like "Tales From Topographic Oceans" and "Relayer", up to the latest work that clearly inspired (yet somehow avoided garnering a "thank you") scenes in the Myst games and of course, the flying mountains of "Avatar" which look as though they were lifted wholesale from a Dean work, the prints form a disjoint narrative of the artist's developing technique and vision.
Enough babble. Twelve 11 inch wide by whatever the scaling calls for high prints from the master, in calendar form. What else is there to say?
