Paul Carrack over the past 40 years has been an integral member of Ace, Roxy Music, Squeeze and Mike + the Mechanics and also associated with Nick Lowe, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, B.B. King, the Pretenders and The Smiths, whilst also pursuing a lengthy and successful solo career. Suburban Voodoo was released in 1982 and was named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the top 20 albums of that year. Brimming over with energy and good vibes he kept things lean and mean, creating a radio-friendly, r&b sound that leaned heavily on the standard guitar-bass-drums-keyboards set-up. The album was a minor masterpiece and produced the hit singles I Need You and Lesson In Love.
