The book provides a useful overview of current EAM practices. Chapter 2 ("An EAM navigator") includes simple yet complete models on EAM building blocks and EAM process integration. The text offers a thorough treatment of EA goals, processes and mechanisms, without neglecting the crucial aspects of integrating EAM in the enterprise. Unfortunately concrete examples are rarely shown and the descriptions of the industry cases are very short. Therefore this book will probably be more useful for experiences practicioners than for those starting in EAM. Chapter 9 "People, adoption and introduction" includes a fresh take on the subject, something I haven't seen in other EA books. Recommended.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Targeting especially executives and not only IT managers, the building blocks for EAM success from a corporate perspective are considered, such as strategic advantages through EAM, EAM governance, EAM's influence on strategic planning and implementation or EA operation.
I particularly liked the enfolded real case examples (the book builds upon 8 different cases) as well as the checklists and management summaries. It should also positively be noted that every chapter can be read independent from the others, so that one is not forced to read the whole book at once or from cover to cover.
For my taste, the book would have profited from some more consistency throughout the chapters (although I know this is not easy in an edited book). For example, I would have wished to find management check lists in all chapters, as these are really useful. Also, chapter 3 somehow deviated stilistically from the rest of the book. Chapter 9 might be too detailled for executive readers.
In general, however, I can really recommend this book. It provides a very good basis for introducing EAM into corporations.
