HASH(0x9b27af78) von 5 Sternen great regency saga 5. September 2009
Von Harriet Klausner - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
In 1818 after a year of grieving compounded by remorse and regret for never showing his late wife he cared, Duke Lynford Pennistan is back in London as a guest at the Harbison Ball; an event he did not want to attend. He has plans for vengeance against the Duke of Bendas. However, tonight he stops in a library expecting to be alone to get his equilibrium.

Also in the library needing to temporarily escape from the crowd is famous singer Elena Verano. She left Italy to get away from memories of her beloved late spouse whom she still grieves for.

In that library, they meet, offer consolation and soon are kissing. Not long afterward, Lyn and Elena formally meet. They help each other with their respective grief and soon fall in love; but his thirst for vengeance conflicts with his need for Elena.

The third Kiss Pennistan historical thriller (see TRAITOR'S KISS and LOVER'S KISS) is a terrific entry in a great regency saga. The story line starts off with an exciting duel that enables the audience to see into the hearts of Lyn and Bendas and never takes a breather even when the lead couple meets and kiss or the deep look into the life of a duke. STRANGER'S KISS is another winner from marvelous Mary Blayney.

HASH(0x9b27d36c) von 5 Sternen A Mix Review 28. September 2009
Von Ms Daisy - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
There were parts of this book that were a hit or miss for me. I enjoyed the budding relationship between the H/h but became bored with the fight between the 2 Dukes. The Duke of Bendas should have been dealt with in the previous book. Kidnapping, attempted murder and then actual murder should have lit a fire under his family's asses to get him institutionalized. Also the writing was a bit rough in places, the name Michael was thrown in around chapter 24 and it took me a while to figure out that Michael must be Garrett's first name. MB did a good job of illustrating the start of social unrest that was going on and how a Duke that wanted reform had to be extremly careful in how he introduced his ideas to the House of Lords. This was an ok read; if there are more books in this series I will give them a try.

The book itself is very well written and I strongly recommend this series. The service I received was much slower than I had become acquainted with - it took about 2 1/2 weeks or more to receive it but it was in very good shape ;-0 I am EXTREMELY pleased with what Amazon offers and their sellers of books have been excellent in their product!

What a wonderful and different book. I loved reading a story about two mature adults who find love. I enjoyed seeing how their past marriages influenced their current love. Now I just want Mia's story for a real change of pace.
HASH(0x9b27b6f0) von 5 Sternen Bk 2 Pennistan Great Read 21. November 2014

I stumbled onto Mary Blayney's works by collecting J.D. Robb books including the novellas. Mary Blayney was one of the authors and I enjoyed her novella enough to look her up online. Since that time, I collected the Pennistan series which I thoroughly enjoyed. When I ordered True Colors, I also ordered the Braedon series (the first three on Kindle). I can honestly say that if you like Nora Roberts (J.D. Robb too), Mary Balough, Linda Howard, Linda Jones, Julie Garwood, Jane Feather, Lauren Willig and others who write about romance and historical romance, you will enjoy this book and any others by her. You know the true gift of an author is to make you read the last line and smile, knowing it ended well and there is a happily after. If you happen to be reading a series, you get to anticipate the next book. Since the Pennistan and Braedon series were written several years ago, I was able to collect all at one time. That's even better.
