If you want to know the original story of Star Wars then you better read this. It tells how George Lucas origanaly thought of the Star Wars Saga. He changed the story alot when he made the three movies. So if you want to see what George added and took out of the movie you have to read this book.

The novelization of all three films is in this omnibus.
I found the Star Wars and the Return Of The Jedi stories the best of the three. There seemed to ba a little bit of consistency problems with the three novels as in Jedi, Chewie, Artoo, and others that speak different languages were formatted and written differently than the other two novels. Also in Jedi is the first time See-Threepio is written as C-3PO.
Other than that they are pretty good. What I usually like about reading good novelizations is being able to read about what chatacters are actually thinking. There is that here as I get to know what Vader thinks, and Luke.
Some intersting new stuff is introduced that you barely notice in the films (if they were in the films at all). For example Luke's best friend on Tatooine.
If you are a Star Wars fan I recommend them. They are short tiny novels (all three are just over 400 pages total) so it's not going to take forever and they are easy reads.

I haven't seen the movies in years so after seeing The Phantom Menace I decided to read the trilogy (actually I couldn't buy the movies and BlockBuster was always out). It was great! The thing I liked the most was overall the complete trilogy is very short (less pages than Zahn's Heir to the Empire). And I didn't feel cheated by the lack of pages, things happened quickly and seldom got boring.

How I liked the three books
I thought the triology set was good except for the fact that Empire Strikes Back was too short to describe the events that happened.

The Books were as bad as the Movies

The MOVIES were great, but the books...

i love this book, im not done reading it yet. But in the book the writer says See-Threepio and AreTOodeetoo instead of c3po and r2d2. still a must buy
