This is trash; don't buy it or let your child read it.
This book has Star Wars on the cover, which is why my child brought the book back from the school library. I am disappointed that the school would have purchased this book, as it is entirely devoid of educational value for anyone who doesn't want to learn that pirates steal. Not why, or how, or anything. Just that they do.
Most (13 of the 16 or so) pages are mainly or entirely about stealing: the pirates steal from others, steal from each other, their pets steal from the pirates, and they double-cross each other for stolen goods. All fairly standard pirate fare, fine, but without any mitigating/redeeming qualities like honour among thieves, creative thinking, stealing to benefit the poor, exposing government waste, saving dead trees from being made into bad books, etc. The pages and story consist of 12 pages of matter-of-fact, lifeless prose about the pirates stealing everything and scaring everyone; three pages about how they steal Dooku's lightsaber and kidnap the Jedi that come after Dooku, and one page about how the Jedi let the pirates go to face Dooku's wrath. The story makes little to no sense and offers no context.
More amazing, the back-of-title page lists 12 people that made this book: seven from the publisher and five from Lucasfilm. The word "author" does not appear on this page; the person credited as author on the cover is down as "Publishing Manager". Writing entirely morally bankrupt sentences -- not a story, even -- about immoral characters with scary pictures and a pointless ending and selling it to children deserves something more than a bad review on Amazon.
The glossary in the back, which I assume is a requirement of such an "educational" book, is worse than pathetic: a not-true-to-movie CG picture of "Dooku" with the expository text "Sith - an evil magician" typifies the educational qualities your child will hopefully not glean from this book.
