Über den Autor
Bethany Hamilton, who YM magazine called the "Bravest Girl in America," has been surfing since she was seven years old. Since her shark attack last year Bethany has participated in numerous competitions and has received the 2004 Teen Choice award for Most Courageous Teen and the 2004 ESPY Award for Best Comeback Athlete.
Sheryl Berk most recently collaborated with Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn DiScala on her memoir, Wise Girl, and with Britney Spears on her autobiography, Stages. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, Peter, and their own little miracle, daughter Carrie.
Rick Bundschuh is a surfer, writer, and cartoonist, and serves as one of the pastors at Kauai Christian Fellowship. He makes his home in Kalaheo, Hawaii, along with his wife, Lauren, their four kids, a weenie dog, and a quiver of surfboards.

im grossen und ganzen hat mir das buch gefallen, nur nach einiger zeit ging es mir zu viel um ihre religion. es ist ja ok das sie religioes ist, aber nicht in jedem satz es erwaehnt.

Good, but young

This book was good and ispiring, but there were a few points that show how young the author is. If you can get past the lower vocabualry level then it is a good read and very easy. Good idea for a family with not too much emphasis on the attack so it can be kid friendly.

This is a truly amazing story of how pain, heartache, and sheer determination along with a strong faith shaped a young girl into the champion she has become. This book is well-written and engaging, telling the story of Bethany's tragedy and triumph after a shark attack took her arm. I amazed at her maturity, her courage, and her resolve to surf again. I can't wait to see the movie!

Love the story. Love the book. I like this version because of all the new photos. Great motivational book. I want to get the movie when the price goes down.
