Excellent read 26. Januar 2014
Von joshua - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
As a man who has competed in combat sports ( boxing, wrestling and football) his entire life, reading and learning about the amazing art known as Sogobujutsu has been a pleasure but most importantly, an honor. Through this book, the reader has come to discover the beginnings of REAL martial arts and separates the truth from lies. It follows one mans journey through the years as he grows not just as a warrior but as a man as well. Through this book, you will learn about a real, tried and true art that was actually used on the battle field. Real strategies and applications that have not been watered down or lost over time. Many martial arts and so called "teachers" claim to be true but get lost within themselves as they trade away truth and real techniques in exchange for dollars and clients. The author refuses to sell out his beliefs because the truth is the truth, and the truth for many so called "martial artists" is a hard and painful pill to swallow. Do not just take my word on it, pick up a copy today, and see for yourself.

Great Book. 26. Januar 2014
Von Chris - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch
Great book ! As some have said before me this book shows an exceptional amount of detail, this book also shows that a great deal of time, effort, and an incredible amount of knowledge has gone into this. I recommend this book to any martial artist out there looking to better themselves, as stated on page 292 "Understand application, train for real, and be truthful with yourself". That is something I feel no matter what you train in, we can all agree on. I can tell you from first hand experience the dedication, knowledge, and love you will find in this book is without a doubt given on the mat. Get a copy and find out for yourselves !

Great book!!! 28. Januar 2014
Von Nick - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I have bee I some form of marital art my entire life, I have been training with Falcaro Sensei for almost 4 years now and have no plans on slowing down. This book has propelled my training and learning curve in so many ways. I have been in many forms of combat sports for most of my life and nothing comes close to amount of depth and knowledge Sogobujutsu has to offer. Sgogbujutsu has enriched my life in more ways than I can describe. By far my favorite part of the book is chapter 6 The 9 Principals, every time I find myself going through a dilemma weather it be in my training or in life I revert back to this section of the book to find the answers that I am looking for. I can't wait for David's next book to hit the shelves.

Must read for anyone who wants to learn about the warrior arts. 2. Januar 2013
Von Matt Syp - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Taschenbuch Verifizierter Kauf
I started learning the warrior arts from Falcaro Sensei last year but ended up moving. This book has let me continue my training without being in class. Warrior arts is more than learning moves, it is about learning tradition and reasons behind the moves you are doing. How they all relate to each other. While I have not completed the book, it has been a big help in getting the mental aspect of the art. I will be returning to continue my training as I can and I know when I do return, I will be better prepared to learn because of the information in this book.

The book is laid out very well. It takes you on a journey in a logical order and explains as it goes so each chapter builds upon the previous chapters. If you are new, or not far into training, you will need to read this book a few times to really grasp what is presented, but a single read will greatly improve your understanding of the material and help greatly with learning in the class situation.

I find it hard to review a book like this but if you are looking into any type of martial arts, go to Lehigh Valley Warrior Arts in Hellertown or Bethlehem PA and talk to Sensei. It is a no pressure situation and he will explain his philosophy and answer any questions you might have. This book, while not required, is a great compliment to the training.

This is a great book if you are either a student of the ... 16. November 2014
Von Amazon Customer - Veröffentlicht auf Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verifizierter Kauf
This is a great book if you are either a student of the authors school or aspire to be. It speaks of lineage, philosophy, dojo rules, etiquette, training outline and history.

In this manner it is highly useful. If you want to learn how to practice martial arts and looking for a "how to" guide, then this isn't the book for you and you should seek elsewhere. It would just make you unhappy. If you are interested in the authors thoughts and philosophies about his own school, then you really should purchase this book.

I wish every teacher I've studied from took the time to commit their philosophy, history and training structure to paper. Most do not and it's a shame. For this reason I highly praise the author for his commitment to do so.

My biggest criticism is that from a technical writing and design perspective it's pretty rough. It's clearly self published and not professional level, compared to other books such as Stephen Hays for example. In that regard, it's very distracting and the author loses some credibility due to the amatuer level of the publication.

In the end though, really who cares? Certainly not the students from his dojo for who it was written for. It's not a pretty publication by far, but it's functional. For less then $4.00 on Kindle it's a pretty good read; especially for someone like myself who is interested in the school but wanted to learn more before taking the plunge.

I'm looking forward to more publications in the future, but hopeful he'll hire a graphic designer or tech writer to edit. It's not that I'm being snarky: he just seems very passionate about his work and I'd like to have him move with his best foot forward in the future so he doesn't lose credibility.

Best wishes for Falcaro and his students. I sincerely hope to make their acquaintance in the future thanks to this book.
