If you've read the book you'll still enjoy this DVD, 3 parts altogether about 5 hours long but moves along at a nice pace, so that you can watch it all in one go. It tells the story of Helene Junot seeking revenge for war atrocities and her rise to power. Typical cast for low budget mini series, Neil Dickson is very good as the young Count De Ville. The first DVD ist the best as this is where the largest part of the story is told, from Helene aged 13 to about 40. The second DVD still involves a good storyline but in the third DVD you really do wait for something more to happen. The ending is a bit of an anti-climax, as I would have expected more about the four villains following the build up to their hate of Helene Junot. However, all in all hugely enjoyable if you like films set in the 80s.
