Synopsis
The sculpture of Michelangelo and Rodin serve as the inspiration for Guido Argentini's photographs of the female nude, taken over a period of 17 years. They are published here for the first time. The book presents two distinct series of photographs. The first is shot in locations around the world in a way that fuses the body with the landscape, while, in the second, dancers and gymnasts are photographed in contorted positions in the studio. The bodies are covered with a veil of oil or a layer of metallic paint. Argentini studied medicine at the University of Florence for three years before turning to professional photography. He has photographed for Vogue, Marie Claire, Playboy, Max and Men's Health.

Es gibt ja doch Menschen, die man so ein bisschen beneidet, weil sie so schöne Sachen machen oder einen faszinierenden Job haben. Herr Argentini zum Beispiel: Bestreicht wunderschöne, leicht sportlich wirkende Models mit Metallicfarbe und produziert dann ganz tolle Fotografien aus unterschiedlichsten Sichtweisen, teilweise auch sportliche Bewegungsstudien. Das zweite Thema sind Akte in surrealen Landschaften (Wüste, Salzsee oder Felsenformationen). Alles ist perfekt arrangiert, jedes Foto ist ein echter Hingucker. Die Qualität des Buches entspricht auch hohen Erwartungen: Schwarz-weisse Bilder auf edlem Papier in grossem Format. Makellos, daher fünf Sterne!

With the differing styles in the book from the Silver coating shots through to the future olympians, all are a pleasure to the eye. His use of tones is marvellous and the print quality of the book does all the images total justice
