Dean Allemang hat das OWL Plugin für Protege geschrieben und gestaltet jetzt den TopBraid Composer. Jim Hendler ist einer der W3C Gurus im Semantic Web neben Sir Tim. Kein Personenkult an dieser Stelle, doch die beiden wissen offensichtlich wovon sie reden.
Wer sich als Informatiker für Web Ontology interessiert, aber bisher an philosophischen Erklärungen wie "Wissenschaft vom Seienden als solchen" (Wikipedia) verzweifelt ist, wird hier endlich fündig.
Es gibt zwar ein paar kleine (Druck-?) Fehler in ein paar Details, aber die sind leicht erkennbar und rechtfertigen keinen Punktabzug.
Dieses Buch macht vorstellbar, wie Semantic Web jenseits aller Philosophie heute einsetzbar ist.
Für jeden interessierten Informatiker, z.B. mit OO Hintergrund, ungemein inspirierend! (für Laien vollkommen ungeeignet).

Eine gute Einfuehrung. Informatiker sollten vielleicht "Semantic Web Programming" (John Heber) lesen - verschiedene Implementierungen, tools, patterns, sowie auch Regeln (SWRL und RuleML) werden dort erklaert.
