I have read Scleroderma:The Proven Therapy That Can Save Your Life. This book gave me hope again when an establishment of medicine had not even provided me with any information on this therapy. I have begun the therapy and already am seeing improvements. I am very hopeful that I will be well again and just want to say to others to find a doctor that will admisnister this correctly to you.

A Deceptive Book 22. November 1999

This book is an advertisement for one method to treat scleroderma based on a limited test. As a long time scleroderma patient, two considerations struck me: first, the book is depressingly reckless in the use of words like fatal and death. The overutilization of the negative image borders on irresponsible. Second, alternative approaches to treatment that have helped some people are totally dismissed. I would also add that the reader will learn very little about scleroderma as such from this book other than by gleaning from the examples. A much more responsibly balanced approach is taken in Maureen Mayes' "The Scleroderma Book."

There is no proven efficacy to the therapies described. The book is dangerous as it provides false hopes and expectations. Patients with scleroderma should consult with a rheumatologist who is familiar with this deadly disease.
