DeMark has spent 23 years trading stocks and futures and studying markets and is considered a major innovator in the field of technical market analysis. An expert on market timing and chart and trend analysis, he definitively and clearly explains his own methods and the new market indicators he has created and uses. He discounts as being too subjective many of the popular trend analysis techniques and suggests that they only seem successful in retrospect and fail to generate buy and sell signals adequately. His system is purely analytical and mechanical, and DeMark himself admits that it is unconventional and unorthodox. He does suggest, though, that his ideas may be applied universally to any event of a cyclical nature. I read the other reviews before I wrote this. The negative reviews have one thing in common, they appear to be written by people who did not understand the book. That is understandable. It is not an easy book. It is, however, the one single book on TA that I would recommend to anyone who was seriously interested in the subject. If you don't find it worth the money, then you stopped reading it before the last page. If you don't like it after you've read it, give it to your broker for Christmas. He'll thank you. One trade costs fifty bucks. Take that fifty bucks and get this book instead of making one trade. Have a dictionary, a pencil, a ruler, and some blank paper handy, and read the book. i read many reviews of this book before i bought it. the praise is well justified and some of the criticism relates to the author's attempt to pack as much punch as posible into each sentence. my observation is that most criticism is from those individuals whose first language is not english or who are unfamiliar with some of the jargon used by traders. once one overlooks these peeceived deficiencies the content far exceeds them. i had the opportunity to hear the author speak on a couple of occasions. by reading the book i was able to connect all the dots.i found the models to be original and complete. i recommend it highly for serious students of the market and want-to-be traders alike.

I've purchased two copies of this book. One is my copy to highlight and make annotations. The other sits on the bookshelf. I get more fufillment out of creating variations of ideas presnted in the book. I've read it atleast 10 times and each time I uncover more information. It's amazing how much I have learned from this book alone. Additionally, it's been a catalyst inciting me to develop original ideas of my own. My goal is to write my own book and enhance upon Mr. DeMark's orignial ideas. I've never been more inspired than having read this book and applying various ideas presented by the author.
