This review will contain spoilers for those of you who haven't read lovely vicious! Just a heads up peeps! Also...I'm highly caffeinated so I apologize for the rambling!
Ok so savage delight picks up right where we left off in LV. Isis is still in the hospital recovering from her head trauma and she has befriended Sophia who is Fifty shades of cray cray. I guess I should be fair here. Everyone is going off on Sophia about how crazy she is, but wouldn't you be? I mean what we found out in LV was seriously the tip of the iceberg. You'll find out some bomb.coms in this one fo sho. Juuuust wait. All in all, yes she's a little looney tunes and manipulative, but if I feel anything for her its just profound sadness and empathy for her pain and loss.
Now what's going to get under a lot of people skins, more so than the Sophia arc, is where we go with Jack and Isis. Y'all its basically right back to the beginning for them and it suuuuuucks because Jack still remembers everything and his previously cold, dead heart remembers what its like to feel something and we the readers are all "ermahgerd all the feeeels!" It's pretty dark throughout the novel. And if there are any Bronte fans, there are some HEAVY allusions to Jane Eyre. Or at least Nadia and I saw them. Like for real. I'm pretty sure if you read Jane Eyre, I just spoiler alerted something, but you know what, my well read Trotters? I'm sorry, still read it!
Isis is still amazing. Her character doesn't grow in SD as much as her history is revealed. That's right, Trotter Lotter Potter Totters!!! We get a slight (because Isis is more closed off that Fort Knox) glimpse of what happened with Nameless. Let's just say that running from your past doesn't mean you've dealt with your issues, it only temporarily puts distance between you until it can catch up. But it will always catch up. I was very pleased with book 2. Of course I could have used more Jack and Isis action because who couldn't? There is a cliffhanger and this one is a thousand times more of a zinger than book 1's. I'm warning you! If you are a cliffhanger hater, try to hold off reading this as long as possible. Wait until you get closer to book 3's pub date because this book rocks and it deserves awesome ratings and shouldn't get penalized for its ending. Yes, cliffhangers universally SUCK, but what is she going to do? Sell us a 900 pg book? Come onnnnn. Titillation can be fun. Just imagine Jack titillating you and then go have yourself forty rereads! We'll commiserate together :) Fully recommended. Go read and be happy...and TITillated. *Cheeeeky*
