Amazon.com

It's autumn in the little town of Pickax, Moose County, and the citizens are preparing for a new event: the Great Food Explo. A philanthropic creation of the Klingenschoen Foundation (a.k.a. Jack Qwilleran), the Explo was arranged to bring new restaurants, inns, and food specialty shops to the area. The great event is only a week away when a bomb goes off in the only hotel in town, killing a housekeeper. Luckily for Pickax, Qwilleran and his two sleuthing felines, Koko and Yum Yum, are on the case. Thrown into the melee are several new characters, including a mysterious woman, a gentle beekeeper, and the woman who wins a date with Qwilleran at a celebrity auction--although cheese seems to be the main character. Find out what's going on in Moose County and read about some delicious tidbits while you're at it! --Jhana Bach -- Dieser Text bezieht sich auf eine andere Ausgabe: Taschenbuch .

From Booklist

The year-round residents of Moose County, 400 miles north of everywhere, are enlivening the postsummer doldrums with plans for a fall Great Food Explo--and with gossip about a mystery woman registered at the Pickax City Hotel. Philanthropist/journalist/amateur detective Jim "Quill" Qwilleran, with his two Siamese gourmand/sleuth cats Koko and Yum Yum, becomes involved not only in the cheese-tasting part (20 different varieties) but also in solving a bombing at the hotel and subsequent murder of one of the witnesses. While the author retains familiar human characters and introduces a few new ones, Quill's famous felines continue to hold center stage. An ingenious plot, colorful characters, and delightful humor ("There are disadvantaged cats out there who don't know where their next mouse is coming from!" ) commend this eighteenth (and hopefully still counting) book in Braun's popular series of cat mysteries to literate ailurophiles, both old and new. From Library Journal

Cat lovers purr at the mention of Braun's best-selling series (e.g., The Cat Who Blew the Whistle, Putnam, 1995), which features a pair of feline detectives. Here, the cats match whiskers with a murderer during a food festival.

Kurzbeschreibung

Latest }Cat Who..{ novel featuring Quilleran and his Siamese Cats. The Great Food Expo is about to begin in Pickax, but when a bomb goes off before it starts, it's time for the detective and his feline sidekicks to join the hunt.

Synopsis

The Great Food Explo is scheduled to open in Pickax with a bang, introducing new restaurants, country inns and food speciality shops. Unfortunately the 'bang' takes the form of a bomb which wrecks a hotel, killing the housekeeper and causing extensive damage. Enter Qwill and his Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum, whose instincts tell them that the murderous bomb was meant as something stronger than a warning to someone.
