There look to be some good recipes in here. My problem (and this is my problem) is that I had to go through 28 pages of contributors (seriously), eight pages of ingredient notes and seven pages of opening notes to even get close to the recipes. Some of this info certainly needs to be in the front, but the bulk should be in the back (unless you can by-pass it, which you can't). No quick jumps - anywhere. There is no break down by category so you just have to page and page through even more. Once you hit a category, there is a list of recipes. From there, there is no link to that recipe, once again having to go page by page by page (and there are a lot of pages in this book). There are no page breaks between recipes, so they tend to run together. The pictures are pretty decent.

I give it a two as some of the recipes do look good. I'm just not going to waste my time looking for them when it should be a quick fix to jump to where you want to go. Not user friendly.

I really enjoyed this book,many of the recipes in the book would be useful just to anyone.
As a mother i was looking for helpful and simple ideas to get my kids to eat healthier and found here so many recipes and most of them worked for me easily such as the smoothie with banana, peanut butter and almond milk-so easy to make and the kids love it.
The only little problem i found is the lack of order or some kind of a plan to work with as i found in Healthy Child - the 5 weeks plan to change your children's life (The "Love your Child" series) and just found myself working with these 2 books together perfectly.I pick up all the recipes form this book and applies then in the plan of the other one and it works for me just great.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to change her children's nutrition.

I thought this would be school lunches and snacks that are healthy. It's really just a cookbook of breads, and smoothies and stuff like that, but dairy free and grain free. For people who want to use recognizable ingredients look elsewhere.

I enjoyed this book. My grandfather needs to watch his diet and he found recipes he enjoyed in here as well as a few we have yet to make. It is very helpful simply for the ideas alone. The recipes were sometimes simple and sometimes a little harder. This book would be ideal for people with allergies or who are vegetarian/vegan.

What a fabulous resource, whether or not you have kids! So many of these recipes would be useful to anyone (in fact, I see a few I'd like to bring to work for lunch as well). I just downloaded the free ebook and the first recipe I looked at contained whole wheat flour, rolled oats, an egg, brown sugar. . . I'm not really sure what could be considered "special diet" about this! Sure, there are other recipes with ingredients that people on restricted diets can eat, but so many of these are just regular recipes, anyway (for instance, a smoothie with banana, peanut butter and almond milk can be enjoyed by anyone, can't it? Similarly, Oatmeal Blender Waffles may be vegan, but can't everyone enjoy waffles made from oats, banana, water and vegetable oil?). From what I understand, many people who are gluten-free are also dairy free (and vice versa), so it makes sense to me that Alisa included options for everyone in this book. If you're not a fan of the gluten-free ones, or the vegan ones, well, there are many, many more for every other type of eater as well--and they all look great to me! :)
