Mongoose has packed a ton of material into this book's 200 pages: character creation, skills, resolution mechanics, magic rules, game master guide, and even a modest beastiary. The book is light on fluff, but that's intentional. I like that the rules are designed so a GM can use the traditional setting, Glorantha, or something else. The writing is good, especially for an RPG rulebook. The system is solid and makes a lot of sense but it's also powerful. Each different type of magic has its own flavor. Combat is dangerous but not so dangerous that it should always be avoided. Combat is full of strategic options and the weapons, styles, and combat maneuvers allow each player to fight differently.
The book itself is nice. The binding and cover seem solid and it's a much nicer looking book in person than a straight-on photo reveals. The layout is good, but just so. My major gripe with the book is that I feel much of the illustrations are so poor they should have been left out entirely. Even the best illustrations feel generic and bland, and this works against the unique flavor evoked by the writing.
I think anyone interested in RPGs should check this gem out.
