The Story : - Has been around in the music business Since late 80s. These guys have each one of them a history of playing live. Some of them have played as an opening act for band such as Dee snider, Paul di Anno, White Lion, The Poodles, Easy Action. Just to name a few and with major Swedish metal acts, even been on tour in South America. Jose Sanchez has been around in a lot of bands such as: Fierce Conviction, Lies and Empire Saint. But hes heart has always been in the glam/hardrock and AOR music. This is for sure the kick ass live band you must see! Haven’t been slapped in your face today? Then you definitely need your dose of SANCHEZ right now! For all the die-hard fans of classic AOR/Glam/Hard Rock music. SANCHEZ
The Review : So, Sanchez are back with their brand new album called "Run The Streets". This is the band's third release, after their self-titled album in 2007 and "Nightride" in 2009. As you all assumed the band is playin' a great mix of 80's hard rock music with a fresh air! They achieved to combine the sound of bands such as White Lion, Dokken and Skid Row without loosing their own indentity.
The band consists of Jose Sanchez in the lead vocals, Kieven Klevmyr on guitars, Marc White on bass and Mr.Drumhead on drums. The voice of J. Sanchez is powerfull and sleaze, yet still melodic, and he is giving to the tracks the extra something to take this band to a higher level!! The guitar sound is melodic and sometimes heavier with some nice riffs and solos, the rhythm section is solid and the production is overall good. The songs are all well-written with a strong dose of 80's hair metal sound but, also, some more sleazier elements and a glam rock attitude that will travel you years back, to the glory 80's, early 90's!!! "Stand Up For Your Rights" is nasty, anthemic and has an ass-kickin' rhythm, strong enough to make you shake and tumble! "We Got Your Love" is pure 80's tune with a really good guitar work, but it lacks of a catchier chorus line. "Run The Streets" is one of my favorite tracks from this album. "Friends" shows the softer side of the band with the acoustic mid-tempo rhythm. "Bullet In Your Heart" is a sensational rocker and "Empty Words" is a great power ballad!
All in all, this is a very interesting release from Sanchez. The boys are tryin' to bring back the glory 80's sound and, in a point, they achieve it. I think that this band has the right attitude, the songs and the passion to make the difference! Well done!! Rating 8/10 -- Heavyparadise, May 6, 2011
Their Myspace page says and I quote..."Music that will get you laid over and over again! For true fans of Danger Danger, Firehouse, White Lion and Dokken." Wow, if the laid part were only true. This is Swedish hair metal/butt rock/bar band rock in the vein of all those fourth tier hair metal bands mentioned above. I haven't heard this style of music since late elementary/early middle school. I would think that if you are gonna ape a band or a genre, you would pick the top of that genre (i.e. Poison, Motley Crue,...) not Danger Danger... -- Brutalcontrol, May 5, 2011
Third album from Swedish Hard Rockers Sanchez. The band leader Jose Sanchez has a huge story since he started singing from the early 80's and having gone from bands such as the Empire Saint has a vast experience in the field. The band Sanchez released his first album in 2007 titled S / T (Artist Service) and having pull another at 2009 come back strongly in the international music scene with RUN THE STREETS. What we have here? Pure, solid and powerful Rock 'n' Roll soaked with plenty of whiskey and is accompanied by strong net hard rock guitars. Sanchez gives us the smell of street influenced by Dokken, Motley Crue, Firehouse, and White Lion. The music in terms of the band is clear. The is not doubt that songs like Stand up (For your rights) or Run the streets are comfortable pieces that can stand in the Glam Hard Rock music scene as it has developed today. Cast in all this is undoubtedly the hoarse voice of the Hard Rock sensation of Jose Sanchez and guitar parts from Kieven Klevmyr. Rythm is typical with Marc White and Mr.Drumhead lead the band into a Hard Rock party. Songs that stood out are Stand up (For your rights), Run the streets, Bullet in your heart and Dont wanna get around. Having, unfortunately, few releases from Hard rock music around the world, we must support bands like SANCHEZ. Keep up the Hard Rock in your heart!!! Rating 8/10 -- Hardcity, May 7, 2011
