starting rowing at the age of mid thirties I was looking for a good book about rowing. After being bored by some esoteric german literature I looked into this book and I've got to say this was exactly what I was looking for. Bill Sayer covers almost all aspects of rowing as rowing and sculling technique, steering and coxing, riggering and training. Every aspect is discussed in detail and goes to the heart of the matter. A lot of pictures examplify and illustrate what he is talking about. Appeartly Bill Sayer is not only an experenced athlete and trainer, his has also a good technical background and excellent didactic skills.
So every sentence of this book makes sense - thank you Bill for getting rowing out of the state of being a miracle!
I wonder why no one of the trainers has metioned this book, I guess all have their own copy - but they don't tell ;-)
Finally I want to mention that the book is easy to read, even English is not your mothers tongue.
