The reviews below are odd - aren't they? There's everyone writing about how great this book is (and it is a definitive - and rare - book on the subject), then suddenly we've got allegations of plagiarism (from what, I wonder?) and neo-colonialism, and the works, from our anonymous friends in Long Island.
I actually work for Rough Guides, so I've a personal axe to grind, too, but I would say, honestly, if you're into reggae, you'll get a hell of a lot out of this book. It hasn't created riches for either author or publisher (reviewers seem to imagine writing a book makes you rich - in your dreams!), and it is that genuine cliché - a labor of love.
In other words: respect!
