Kurzbeschreibung

Can the Greatest of Enemies Become the Greatest of Lovers?

WHY ROMEO HATES JULIET is a romantic comedy about Juliet Soma, a stressed-out romance writer who has a deadline to meet but she has developed a major case of writer’s block and hasn’t been able to write anything in months. To help her relax, her sister takes her to a secluded beach house on Prince Edward Island in Canada. Much to her surprise, it works—until the neighbors show up!

Some would say that A-list, movie star Romeo Boyd is washed up in Hollywood. But bad boy Romeo doesn’t care. He’d much rather party—and party loud. So he decides to take his entourage of friends and head out to his beach house on Prince Edward Island, a place he’s never vacationed at until now.

Unfortunately, neither Romeo nor Juliet get what they want. Instead, they get each other! Stubborn and a fighter to the bitter end, Juliet clashes with her noisy neighbor and an epic war begins, with each playing pranks on the other, neither of them giving an inch, and both of them fighting the intense attraction sizzling between them.

The battle escalates, until one day, Juliet accidentally shoots him. When Romeo comes to, to Juliet’s horror, he has amnesia and believes that she is his wife. But does he really? No, of course not! He’s just faking it and using all of his Hollywood acting skills to get his payback on her. But how far is Romeo prepared to go, especially when he finds his heart melting towards her? And how far will Juliet take things when she discovers what he's really been up to? Will true love win out in the end for both of them?

WHY ROMEO HATES JULIET is an epic, emotional rollercoaster ride filled with twists & turns and highs & lows, spanning an entire summer at the beach. Just when you think one thing will happen, something else does. And when you think it’s all over, it suddenly isn’t. Be prepared to have fun, laughs, surprises, shocks and maybe even a few tears as you live a lifetime with all of the back and forth drama between feuding neighbors, Romeo & Juliet.

Word Count: 163,184 - WARNING: THIS IS A LOOOONG NOVEL! It was written for all the grand readers in the world who crave epic tales of love. You know who you are!

Note from the Author:

When creating this story, I was fascinated with the themes of love & war. I wanted to explore how a silly little thing like a neighbor playing their music too loud can end up with someone almost getting killed. I mean, seriously—how does that happen??? But I firmly believe that, with love and understanding, differences can be overcome, and even the greatest of enemies can become the greatest of lovers… because in the end, love heals all. Anna Mara

Reads like a first draft 19. März 2012
Von Cassandra
Format:Kindle Edition|Von Amazon bestätigter Kauf
The book "Why Romeo hates Juliet" leaves the impression of a first draft of a book that might have been published without an editor ever taking a look at it. The initial idea of the book is not very original, but also not bad--the execution, however, leaves a lot to be desired. The book is divided into irritatingly many short chapters (more than seventy); because of that the story doesn't really develop a flow but seems somewhat "chopped up". Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) seems to deserve at least one adjective--no one ever just laughs or cries or says or does anything; instead everybody laughs loudly, gratingly, irritatingly, sweetly... you get my drift. The main characters are two-dimensional, often childish and sometimes downright unpleasant so it's hard to be sympathetic towards the plight of either one of them. On the upside: For some reason I kept plowing through until the very end--I wanted to know how it all came together. If possible I would have rated this book at 2 1/2 stars; since 2 stars seemed unfair I had to go with 3. But there's a lot of good will attached to that rating.

At least throught the first half of the book the main charakters acted very mean and cruel - people you´d avoid if you could.

Their dislikable personalities made me regret i ever picked this book up. Romeo spends his time with booze, women and partying. Juliet feels sorry for herself and when these two meet they start with their cruel pranks. SPOILER Example : Romeo mistakes Juliet for a stripper and grabs her boobs. When she shoves the jerk, he slips backwards into a TV and has her arrested for assault. Ha ha, so funny - NOT. Through the book they are constantly lying to each other, their friends and their family.

By the time they started to develop feelings for each other i just didn´t care.
The 2nd half of the book is slightly better but by then I only hoped that the book would be over soon. I´m reading hundreds of books every year and this was one of the very very few i ever had trouble finishing.

Love it! 31. Januar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I simply love this book and I literally couldn't put my Kindle aside while reading it!
The story proceeds fluently and the characters are adorable and multifaceted.
This book has wit, passion and heart.
The banter between Romeo and Juliet is sometimes quite childish which both of them know and which made me laugh hearty.
But the book also provides depth and it doesn't only picture the hardship to come together but also to trust each other and stay together. Therefore reading "Why Romeo Hates Juliet" also made my cry sometimes. It's like a roller coaster ride of emotions - very recommendable for every romance novel fan!
