This map tries to do too much.

This map has some strong and weak points.
I like that it's one big map and not spiral-bound.
I like that this map covers all five boroughs of NYC and then some.
I also like that it shows you all the schools, hospitals, post offices, libraries, and train stations.
However, on the whole this map feels too cluttered.
The Manhattan portion of the map is virtually unusable because of all the little symbols and names of landmarks overlaid on top of the streets; the street names are difficult to make out, esp. in lower Manhattan.
I bought this map to replace a really old Rand McNally NYC 5-borough map I had, but I find myself still using the old one.
So, I think this map could be improved in a number of ways.
1. It should be less cluttered. (especially the Manhattan portion. I don't think it needs to show the names of all the churches and little museums. Just the really major landmarks will do.)
2. The font size for the street names could be a little bigger.
3. The font for names of boroughs and landmarks could be made a bit lighter. (sometimes they cover up the street names and I can't make them out)
